I am trying to repair a 36v E-Bike Flasher Unit.

I have done a quick Schematic in DipTrace, I think it's right.

The burnt part looks to be a TO-126, and made by NEC, but it's hard to read what is left of the part numbers, but it looks something like K701, K791, K301, K391.

Can anyone advice.

It could be an 2SK701, A N-channel Mosfet (see attached datasheet).
(often the 2S preface is not printen on the parts).

What would you say would be a good drop in replacement for the 2SK701 ?

I think the IRL540 will do the job easy, as the 2SK701 is a logic level gate mosfet.
Take a look at the datasheet : irl540n.pdf and compare it with the 2SK701.
