Hi,are there any diagnosing softwares for repairing dvd/vcd music players to inform you where the problem is,before going through it manually?

Eg my dvd music player has a lens problem or may be its dirty. Is there a software to indicate that, when you connect the player to your computer?

Shouldn't you just clean the lens or replace the drive?

 

No analysis software that I'm aware of, unless you happen to be friends with the manufacturer who probably has some sort of fancy test setup.

In all honesty products like today's DVD players are built to be throw away items.

It is always worth trying a lens cleaner, just be sure to get one that comes with a little bottle of cleaning fluid you put on the cleaning brush or it does nothing more than rub the dust around on your lens.
