I am trying to drive GoolRC 540 17T DC motor using a 2S Lipo battery. Product page says that its idle current is 3.58A, however, I can't find max current draw anywhere. I am looking for cheapest driver (2 directional, preferable single motor) that can reliable drive this motor. What kind of current rating should I be looking for in my driver?

 

Also, would it be too difficult for an amateur to make a driver using mosfets?
