can any one suggest a suitable type of hall effect sensor for a tachometer..

 

Not until we have some explanation of the application. Gear tooth, rotating shaft? What kind of environment? Will an optointerrupter and wheel work as well? What is the range of rotation?

 

it should be a simple non contact digital tachometer. range would be 0-4000 rpm..im gonna use an optoisolator. yeah its for measuring the rpm of rotating shafts. i would be glad if you can help me..

 

The principle is simple - one counts pulses that relate to the rotation for a period of time. What specifically is a problem for you?
