Can someone help with a dc motor report. Not quite sure the right way to start it.

The first step is your own thread, then, provide information as to what type of motor, for what class, with what methods and info you have on the motor, etc...

And you need to show some effort to develop your own ideas. Present an outline of what you think might be relevant and we can discuss it.

If you are going to come at things with the attitude, "I don't know where to start, so I'm not going to do anything," then you are going to have a miserable career in any kind of engineering. Engineers are problem solvers -- that is the only thing that makes other people willing to pay us. So your attitude needs to become, "Okay, I'm pretty uncertain about this, but here are my initial thoughts, could you comment on them?"
