DC-DC Convertor for Circuit

Hello Guys,

I can't find any 6V ouput DC-DC converters...but they do have 12V. Do you suppose I could have a 12V DC-DC convertor and have a voltage divider that divides it into 6V? Will it last a long time? I also want to have a potentiometer that will go from 200V to 0V. How can this be done?
