Hi folks, hoping somebody can explain to me how to turn the DATA PROTECT application off in the PICkit2 programmer. I'm using it with the Low Pin Count board and a 12F683 plugged in.

Somehow the data protect was engaged but I do not know how this happened or how to turn it off??

Any help will be appreciated............Thanks a lot, John

What data are you trying to use? If RAM, the PICkit doesn't touch that; RAM is retained as long as power is applied, even if you reprogram the device.

EEPROM may be preserved too, but this is a setting on the app that you are using to control the PICkit. In MPLAB this is under Programmer | Settings, and there is a check box. The PICkit stand along app has a similar check box but I don't have that applet handy to tell you what it is.
