Current rating of Thermostat

I buy a Thermostat Tr-93 which shows
Tr-93 (Thermostat Model)
16(4) A
220~240v µ
T40
I want to know that what is the meaning of 16(4)A? what's its current rating?? why its rating is mention in this way 16(4)A??
why not only write 4A ?

The current rating is 16A.

(4) signifies that it's suitable for inductive loads.

as in contactor selection there are 4 categories AC-1, AC-2 , AC-3 and AC-4.

My earlier interpretation of the current rating was incorrect. I regret the error.

16(4) A signifies that the current rating is 16A for resistive loads and 4A for inductive loads.

Here's an extract from a manufacturer's catalogue.

Below is an example of a typical European rating:
16(4)A 250V ~ T85 µ


In this example the 16 = resistive load amperage; (4) = inductive load amperage; A= amperage; 250V= voltage; ~ = AC; T85= Maximum operating temperature in centigrade; µ = micro-gap (<3mm) approved.
