I work with generators and I ran into something yesterday that gave me a chuckle.
Our customer's set up was for 3 phase 480/277V. Each AC alternator has a voltage regulator that needs to be fed 220V.
So, first time Mr. customer hooks up the AVR, he burns it up because he connected line to line voltage to it thus burning it immediately. So, we sent him a new one and instead of connecting line to neutral voltage, he sets up a step down transformer!
He thus voided his warranty, but it did the job, I guess...
