I require a pulse counter circuit for my project.I want it to stop generating pulses after 'n' pulses. How do I achieve this???I don't want to use micro controllers or micro processor.
Which IC should I use????

 

Put a ripple counter on it, a AND gate, and another AND gate between the pulse generator and the output.

 

As Bill said , it's easy to do it with a counter and basic logic gates.

You should however mention how many pulses is "n" and if it has to be adjustable and if so what's the range (n max / n min).

 

0-99 with a CD40102 pre-settable down counter and a couple of decimal thumb wheel switches. Expandable.

Can u show me the circuit diagram....
The no. of pulses I needed is only 20...
When a high signal is given,the circuit should give only 20 pusles and stop till the next high signal is given to it. This should b repeated for every high signal....
