Control AC device with a DC circuit?

Ah that explains it... I had a feeling it might require the A/C side for some reason.

Which side should be neutral, side 1? It's not marked so I wasn't sure if it mattered.

The neutral goes straight to the load. You place the relay in the line side.

edit: the word light is supposed to be between the 2 vertical lines to the right.

You can use this setup, which is similar to another thread where I uploaded this diagram.... but this is how the AC side should be connected...



Never mind the transistor on the input, this was for another application where a microcontroller controlled the SSR, you just need the AC wiring side....

Thanks guys.

Ran a quick test on the SSR this evening and it worked as it was supposed to. I just didn't realize that I couldn't check the resistance similar to a physical relay with contacts...

I'll make a more permanent solution later this week and finish my project.
