hi guys.I want to ask you if anyone knows how i can control a motor which included on a DVD writer machine of my pc.The work of this motor is to open and close the cd case.

1.How can i make to turn rigth and left the motor?I have 5V supply.the motor has only two pins.
2.I want to control it by pic microcontroller.if something happens to something the motor.


i believe motor is a step motor but i don't no this really.

 

With 2 pins and being bidirectional it is probably a brushed DC motor. Have a look at the H bridge circuit here:
