Hi all
I want to use an L298N with arduino in order to drive two motors and be able to change the rotation movement.
after some research I came with the scheme in attachment
I was wondering if my scheme is correct ?
Also do I need the 0.5 ohm resistors ?
thanks in advance.

That's probably correct but the resolution of the image is too low to be sure of pin numbers.
You only need the resistors if you are going to control the current by monitoring the voltage across those resistors.

thanks a lot; it works.
I noticed the L298N gets hot a little bit;
Is the device reliable if I keep it running for a very long time ?

Working within its rated current it should run indefinitely and it does have thermal protection so should shut down if over temp.

A "little hot" or a blister on your finger after a half second to a second (on the plastic body).

Those can handle some surprising temps (130°C)
