Hi All,

I am new to this forum and the electronics world. Im not completely inept on the subject but I do lack in the communications dept. I have a system that takes data measurements but I need to monitor it through out the course of the day, while I am at work. Unfortunately there is no internet where it is located so my original idea of setting up a server wont work. Is the any way I can use RF or cellular signals to operate this from a distance? Any directions on where I can find out more about these systems is greatly appreciated.

What's the average and furthest distance you will be from the sensor?

What is the environment around it? i.e. buildings (and their construction), trees, valleys, etc.

Maybe some more specifics about the actual device could help us (by us I mean all the smart people here, not me)

like how in depth do you need to communicate?

RFID could be an option, possibly an active tag setup... again, depends on geography and geometry :)
