Computer aided design

    Hi all,
    I am a new electronics engineering student and would like to know the laptop requirements so I can use cad programs. Any help ?

    The CAD program will clearly state the hardware requirements it must have to run. You might check with classmates as well.

    It depends on the CAD program.
    Some need massive processing power and others dont.

    For PCBCAD I use a 28inch monitor so I can see as much of the pcb at once as possible.

    The big monitor also works well with C# programming so I can see plenty of the open windows without it scrolling off the screen.

    Laptops are generally slower than desktops so I would suggest as fast a laptop as you can afford with a decent sized screen.
