Component spice model

I'm running Win 10. LTS looks in the C:\Users\User\Documents\LTspiceXVII\lib\sub directory for the models. If I edit a .sub file in there, the edit is acted on. It doesn't affect the model in the ....User\Apps\LTspice directory where I installed LTS.
