Can anyone please help me identifiy this component from a strobe light !
it is approx. 15mm *10mm rectangle in shape has three pins two protruding from one end (one pin smaller than the other). and one from the other.
only Chinese markings on the case.
It has been removed from a printed cct board in a location marked L1, which I assume is an inductor.
Any ideas would be great !

10mm by 15mm by what? Might be a filter capacitor working at the power line voltage, might be a relay, might be a dual choke. Can you get a photo or two up here?

Go Advanced, manage attachments, browse, open, upload...or something like that.

Still guessing, but I'm thinking it's a pulse transformer. Both windings have one "ground" point. One side gets energy delivered to it, the other side ejects the energy at a higher voltage.
