This works in MPLAB 8.36, not sure if it works in other versions.
If you hold ALT and then click and drag the mouse you can select rectangular areas to delete. Handy for code from the app notes which often has the dissasembly listing to the left as below.
It is a bit buggy and sometimes needs a few attempts.
