Can a CW multiplier be driven with a pulsed DC signal?

Is it possible to short out a CW multiplier's output without having a large voltage drop?

Can a CW multipler be used to charge a larger capacitor at a constant voltage?

1. No - gotta be AC

2. Voltage drop where? Shorting the output will certainly remove that voltage.

3. No. Charging proceeds at a constant rate, but only to some final voltage that can be controlled by the magnitude of the driving voltage.
