hello guys...
i need ur help regarding ic 4072 (CMOS 4-in OR gate).
i want to know its supply voltage, voltage it considers as high(1) and low(0).
any other precaution 2 b taken while working with it....
i haven't used any CMOS device before
your guidance will b very much valuable for me....:)

CMOS ICs generally have a wide operating supply voltage range, typically 3V to 18V.
Logic switching threshold voltage is half the supply voltage (VDD). For example, if your supply voltage is 9V, the high and low thresholds are both 4.5V

Make sure all unused inputs are connected to GND (VSS).

Apply all ESD guidelines:
1. Store all devices in anti-static bags.
2. Ground all circuits, soldering stations and yourself while handling ICs.
3. Avoid overloading or shorting outputs to VDD or VSS.
4. Make sure all input voltages do not go below VSS or above VDD.

hey...
thnx fr ur guidance.:)
i basically want to interface ic 4072(4-in OR gate) with 7432(2-in OR gate).m using common supply as +5v.now how should i interface?what will be high and low in this case?will both ic's have same value of high level and low level? pls help..

p.s.:4072 is first stage followed by 7432 (cmos-ttl interfacing)

i would also like to know the numbering scheme followed to number any cmos and ttl ic:)
