m na eng grad student i hav sum doubts regarding diodes.
how does a voltage drop acroos diode taken ?
does it hav any polarity?
if it has then how com in the notes given in the 3rd ckt diag of clipper ckts in the below link both voltages are added in both cases.
+ve terminal of v1 is connected to cathode of d1 and +ve terminal of v2 is connected to anode of d2,hence in at least one case the voltages should be reduced.pls anybody help me out.

did you understand circuits 1 and 2? circuit 3 added a "dc offset" by adding additional dc voltage sources, v1 aiding d1 and v2 opposing d2.

output waveform is close. did you apply the theory from circuits #1, #2, and #3, or my last comments on aiding and opposing voltages? by the way circuit #3 output waveform is the red one.
