[clipper is use in rectification to convert ac to dc]

 

clampers are used to change the level of a signal usually at the ends of a transmission /reception..thats one application i m aware off...there cud be several more

I'm pretty sure you want to look into a power supply cookbook of some type. You'll see these terms used when designing switching power supplies, and when designing the initial stages of low voltage electronics where levels of voltage must be controlled to avoid damage to components, and to provide stable operations.

Pulse height analysers use clipping to eliminate pulses from photomultiplier tubes in order to discriminate against particles with energies different from the ones of interest.

FM receivers clip the signal to keep out noise, as the frequency received carries the information.

 

You use clampers & clippers every time you turn on your television set.

can you explain?

Clippers are used in many electronic circuits .
i know only two applications and hope to know more from u.so please email me
The two applications which i know are
1.clippers are used in rectification procees ,that is to convert ac to dc.
2.they are used in wave shaping.

 

Clipper circuits is basically a recitifier circuit(Rectifiers). We use it in wave shaping,TV.
clamper circuit is used in voltage multipliers,adding dc voltage.
The best application of clamper circuit is camera:
In camera a flash is generated, which requires high amount of voltage. That high voltage is generated using a clamping circuit.
