circuit delay

I am looking for a way to slow down electricity through a switch. Anybody got any ideas? I need a delay of only about 4-5 milliseconds total. PLEASE HELP!!!!:confused:

Hey everyone...I am looking for a way to delay electricity by about 4-5 milliseconds. Nothing high-tech is nessessary.....just a delay. Can anybody help?:confused:

All I could think of is diode (for rectification), RC (for delay) and relay (for switch) inbetween.

May be DIAC inplace of relay.

Delay how? You want to throw a switch or relay for an extremely short amount of time after you turn it on? I think some clarification is needed.

For delaying electricity you could could use traffic signals, but you also have to implement police in the circuit...

Is your signal AC or DC? What voltage and current?
