Hi,

I am developing an application using telit module GE 864 gps, with the EVK2 evaluation kit. Being a software developer, I need a little help understanding the power supply for the motherboard. Power supply inputs on the motherboard are following:
-5-40 V power jack
-3.8 V wire
-5-40 V wire
-battery and charger
My questions are:
Does choosing of the power supply depends on the functionality of the module or can I choose whatever I want?
What is the difference between fixed DC and variable DC considering functionality?

Thanks in advance,
Silvija

The board only needs one power source to operate. Which one you choose depends on the final application. For testing, use a wall adapter. Anything from 9VDC to 12VDC is very common.
