Hi. This may be a silly question, but can I wash ceramic capacitors in soapy water?

I've got thousands of old ceramic capacitors that have been in a dirty drawer for decades and they're covered in dust and grime and it's really nasty to sort through them looking for the right one. Can I wash them?

 

Yes indeed, but let them air dry out thoroughly afterwards.

Don't soak them and don't scrub so hard you rub the markings off.
