Frequency is the reciprocal of the period.

f = (Tp)^-1 = 1 / Tp
 
1 / 25e-6 = .04e6 = 40e3 = 40 kHz.

 

An alternative method to calculate frequency is to measure the time between two consecutive occurrences of the event (the period) and then compute the frequency f as the reciprocal of this time:

F=1/T=1/0.000025=40000Hz

where

T is the period.
