Hi everyone,i have almost read all the posts realting to the buck convertor but havent got any solution to my problem.I am using IGBT mg300H1UL1 in the convertor. The gate of Igbt is connected to ATmega 16 from which i am generating pwm. I am using IGBT driver Ir2101.But problem is that whenever i put IGBT 300H1U1,the i.c blown.I have made the design of i.c on proteus with mosfets 840 and everything is working fine but replacing with mg300H1Ul1 ,the i.c blow..Any one kindly help me with the problem...????

Can i common the ground of the power supply of i.c and IGBt????
Attached is the schematic..

What is the switching frequency?

What is the switching speed of the IGBT. IGBTs are usually much slower than MOSFETs and that may be your problem.

What is your deadtime?
Why are there no gate resistors?

Do you have an oscilloscope?

Post a picture of your layout.

The maximum negative voltage at LO and HO can only be 0,3V. That's not a lot.
Switching can cause negative transients at the output pins, a gate resistor helps to reduce that. It also avoids ringing due to wire inductance and gate capacitance.

Dead time????
Where i have to attach the gate resistor.Between the HO and gate of IGBT.????
Yup i do have the oscillocope.
