i am designing a boost converter using zero voltage switching technique, here its the parameter:
Vin = 5v
Vo = 12v
and other elements as shown in schematic below;

my question is when supplying a 5v to the input, the output will not equal to 12v
it will be approximately = 10.963v

also am using (DIODE_VIRTUAL) so i don't know what is the diode should be used , because am going to build hardware so i need to specify the value of the diode.

any on give a suggestion about it,
thanks.

That circuit has no feedback to regulate the output voltage. It is thus determined by the connected load and the duty-cycle of the 555 driver.

the frequency is constant its about 100kHZ and the duty cycle is 58%, ton= 5.83μs-----toff=4.16μs, so the output should be 12v or at least 11.5,

and am not sure about the size of the inductor.Perhaps is the reason why i didn't get accurate value of the output

The output voltage of a buck circuit is approximately determined by the duty-cycle over a range of loads, but not a boost circuit. The output voltage of a boost circuit depends upon both the duty-cycle and the load.
