I ordered several book from Amazon.com. They have all been very informative and between the few I bought I have managed to gain a good bit of knowledge and usefullness from the 16F series of chips. Definately worth having around as a desk reference, especially when starting out.

Not any free book as know of. And posting links to copyright material is accepted on this site.
But that aside. Will you be using assembler or any other language. Most books about PICs use either assembler or some specific compiler
