The article does not explain why we don’t see them via gravitational lensing.

Why black holes can’t explain dark matter.

 

Not sure I understand your argument ... there are black holes out there that have been detected using gravitational lensing. The question, for me, is why is it that (in theory) so many black holes have not been detected yet?

 

Did you look at the article I linked? Studies of supernovae looking tor gravitation lensing do not find it at the rate that would be predicted if all dark matter was made up of black holes. It sets sn upper limit at 23% of dark matter could be black holes.

I see your point ... but the article I posted makes its argument around primordial black holes, which is something not mentioned in the one you posted. Perhaps there's an important difference, observationally-wise?

And besides, the article you posted end by saying: "According to this work, we can’t entirely exclude black holes from dark matter yet, but it shows that there must be much more to the explanation."
