I use a lot of terminal blocks. I would like to get something to crimp on the ends of my wires so that they don't get frayed. Anyone know what product I should use?


Edit: Never mind, I think I found what I need. "Wire ferrules"

 

That's it. Basically, a ring terminal with the ring cut off. AMP, Panduit, Molex, etc.

I've always just stripped and tinned(soldered) the exposed wire.

 

Depending on the wire gauge, I've soldered the wires to header pins, and insulated the join with shrink tubing.

 

Depending on the wire gauge, I've soldered the wires to header pins and insulated the soldered connection with shrink tubing. For heavier wires, I've also covered the joint with silicon sealer or hot glue.

I've found that the spacing on the terminal blocks match the header pins.

Wire (or end) ferrules is what you need. Make sure to get a proper tool aswell.

Ask them to send you samples of sizes and types you think you may want both uncrimped and crimped on the type and size of wire you need using each tool type.
