I currently like to use LogicWorks for simulations using logic gates such as AND's OR's, etc. Is there any other simulation software that you guys can recommend for digital design?
What are your criteria for "best"? Cost? Speed? Scalability? Integration with other EDA tools? Extensiveness of part and package library? Accuracy of simulations? Ability to interact with analog circuitry? The list goes on and on. The reason their are multiple tools is that no tool can be the "best" when judged against all the possible figures of merit.
Hands-down Logisim.
No competition.
It abstracts away much of the electronics portion, and deals strictly with digital logic.
It is very fast, scalable, and open-source.
