baud rate and data rate of UHF transmitter ?

I'm reading datasheet of PCF7900 (UHF transmitter). According to datasheet, PCF7900 has the data rate up to 40 kBits/s (section 1.2 General Description), but the baud rate can be much larger (section 5.8 Baud rate Generation), so I wonder whether there's a difference between baud rate and data rate of PFC7900. Looking forward for your explaination.Please see the attachment for more information.

I took a quick look at the data sheet and agree that it looks like the baud clock is much higher, typically. Something like the crystal /2 to crystal/510. So with a crystal of 13.08 MHz that makes the baud clock high. As it generates either ASK of FSK the baud rate and bit rate ought to be the same. There must be an application note on this part that explains it better than the data sheet and perhaps gives settings for various baud rates.
