I'm a BSEE student, and right kind of in the middle of the program, and I was wondering if there are any graduates from the Purdue program who could advice on how much energy storage is in the core courses? Will the core courses teach significantly about batteries and the like, or would it be advisable to try to learn such things perhaps concurrently on my own?

I suppose my question is how useful will the courses be for understanding the real word of batteries (NiMH, NiCd, and their peculiarities)?
