battery protector cord integrity change

I have a 12V Dometic/Waeco CF18DC cooler/freezer that has a built-in battery protector that its specs say cuts out when the battery discharges to 10.4V. I accidentally cut the 12v DC power-cord--have repaired it well with twist-on connectors. Will this affect the cut-out to be higher than 10.4v? I am wondering if the impedence, or resistance will lessen or increase and thus change what the voltage sensor in the appliance reads.
