Guys i need some help. How can i use a small battery cell 3V/1.5V to power up a 9V circuit? i found some voltage booster/multiplier and some IC for voltage step up. But most are driving up to more than 10V+ or requires aleast a 5V primary input. I decided to post this and get some help if anyone has an idea how can i go about doing it.

i am modifying a 9-12V circuit to be as small as possible.(possibly size of a 3V coin battery). i need to find a small dc power choice to power up the circuit. the only solution i could think of is stacking 03x3V coin battery but the overall size bigger than expected or i could using a single 3V coin battery and amplify/boost/multiple it to achieve 9V.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

The LM2698 could do the job. But it is a surface mount only device. If you want a through hole device, look at MC33063A.

What about the small 12V batteries used in car door Lock/Unlock devices for key chains.
The would compare to 3 3V button cell batteries and need no circuit.
