so i breadboarded this power amp circuit. http://www.circuit-projects.com/aud...inclone-2x68-watt-full-amplifier-project.html it sounds absolutely great! but, it needs some more emphasis on the lows. is there a way to modify it for better bass response? im hoping it would only be a couple extra parts as i cant place a digikey order till i get more funds.thank you!

The second schematic provides a bass boost of 7dB at around 30Hz. Maybe your speakers are too cheap or are too small to produce bass frequencies around 30Hz which is very low.
A good 12" woofer in an enclosure designed for it should be able to produce 30Hz fairly well. A 10" woofer goes down to about 45Hz well and a good 8" woofer goes down to abput 60Hz well.

A little 4" woofer is a joke. It might be able to go down to about 80Hz or 100Hz which is upper bass not deep bass.

Creative is making tiny 2", 2.5" or 3" woofers. They use lots of bass boost so that they seem to have good bass but it is a joke.

 

right on! i had crappy boombox speakers. much much better on bigger speakers!

 

That link leads me to a sort of home page from which there are sub links to lots of different amps, can you get more specific on which one it is?

It may not be that much of a problem to boost the bass a bit more or raise the boost frequency by changing a cap or two.

 

A crappy "boombox" speaker resonates at about 150Hz and does not produce deep bass so boosting the bass does not work.
