Hi,

I am very new to electronics and i'm just trying to understand the microcontrollers for the first time. I have a university project to design an autonomous parachute system. It is quite a basic system as it is primarily software based but the circuitry is the main part of the project.

Inputs are:

4 Infrared sensors to detect location of a flare based on radiation intensitities
A GPS module

Outputs are:

2 Linear actuators to guide the parachute.

The query I have is i'm not sure which microprocessor inputs/Outputs should be used for these. I believe the infrared sensors should be attached to the analogue inputs but as far as GPS and actuators go I'm not sure.

Can anyone advise on this?

Thanks

well since you didn't give any part numbers nor post any datasheets/links for any of the sensors/actuators/modules we can only guess.

So... maybe :)
