Auto door via drill

    I am trying to do something similar to this.

    Except i am not using the same drill or any circuit board.
    I have a
    12v electric power supply
    a motor pulled from a 14.4v cordless drill
    two stop limit switches
    and a relay.

    I want the drill to run forward raise a door then stop via the stop limit switch. Then run backward at a later time via a timer to close a door and stop via the other stop limit switch.

    I wonder if someone could help me wire it.
    The power will be plugged into a timer.

    The simplified answer is to just change the relay to one that is suitable to your power voltage, and use the linked plans to make the system. But you will still need to figure out how to mount and wire everything.

    When you say you "pulled a motor from a 14.4 volt drill", I hope you also kept the gearbox part of the motor. A motor like that without the gearbox, will have high speed and little torque.

    Yes I did save the gear box. Mounting is not a problem.
    I can get the drill running and it pulls my door fine. I can get a switch to turn on the drill or stop it.

    The problem is the wiring.
    I don't understand switches and relays. With the configuration of this project I am lost.
    Maybe someone has a simple explanation of what i need.
