Recently I have been tinkering around with spare parts and I decided to start work on an arcade-style coin-op machine with an old r/c car motor. I need a good way to reduce a wall socket current to about 4 or 5 volts. I've also been messing around with batteries, but I can't find a good way to hold them in place. Either option would work, but I would prefer to plug it into the wall. Any advice?

You need to give us some parameters:

  • AC or DC? Most likely DC because it's a car motor.
  • How many amps? Written on the motor usually.
  • Your mains voltage, 115V/230V and sometimes frequency
  • Regulated? (This means the output stays very stable.)
