It looks more like they come from a homework or exam problem, in which case each probably is to be taken on its own merits independent of the others.Refer to the picture in post #5.
If they came from the same schematic, they're not consistent.
Yep. From a homework problem. They just mean connection to a global node (often called a "named connection" or something similar).
