It's always been the inner most pin(s) in my experience that determined gender. Most of my experience has been RF related, but your post in #14 shows a picture of a female 4 pin connector.I believe the outer ring determines gender.

I meant a few close up pictures of your machine, on your desk. Some nice details; how the spindle motor is mounted, corner junctions, some mechanical solutions, and such. How does the z-axis move up down...The machine or the picture???
My horrible temperature controlled soldering iron made in China uses that connector.Not sure how I want to do this project. I am thinking that I will get some of these. Any idea what they are?
