I would like to build a headphone amp that will output 2 x 3 watts @ 24 Ω. I found an amp ic that will work but I will need two of them. The ic is called AN5278. the batteries will be connected to a 26V voltage regulator and a 5V voltage regulator.

The first question I have is what will be the overall power draw and what type of battery packs should I use.

The second question is I would like to put in a variable gain bass booster. can someone please give me a schematic on how to do so.

3W into a headphone will blow off your ear and destroy the headphone and your hearing. Most headphones are extremely loud with only 0.1W.

The power draw depends on how much is the average power.

The Panasonic datasheet shows a simple bass boost circuit.
