I have to design a system where an antenna has to capture a 10kHz signal. The signal has to be filtered so that there is minimum noise from power cables. To do this, i decided to use a passive notch filter to remove the 50Hz from the signal and then amplify it. However, the signal gets lost when i connect it to the amplifier, the amplifier is a non inveting amplifier with gain of 500.

After the notch, the signal of about 200mV becomes about 10mV which i have to amplify to about 5V.

Can anyone please help me out with this?

 

What is the size of this antenna, and why do you think it is picking up 50 Hz. Have you measured this?
