My understanding is that an electric motor is essentially a generator which is used in reverse, and vice-versa. Whether or not this will work in each individual case depends upon the design of the machine. Generally speaking, this will work better for DC machines than for AC machines.Your question is not clear, An alternator makes electricity by turning it. Now how do you want to turn it into a motor?
