Hi
I'm doin my finaly year project on directional beamforming. I require an ic for FM modulation, searched max1479 for the pupose. Unfortunately this ic is not available in the market.
Someone PLEASE tell me its alternatives.
(frequency of operation, greater than 300 Mhz).

Have a look at 'Phase Modulation'.

This is basically done with an inductor and a varicap diode (a 'Reactance Modulator'), to apply a varying phase shift to the carrier.

As long as you correctly filter the modulating signal (something like -3db/octave low pass?) the result is equivalent to 'flat' FM.
If you woudl normally use pre-emphasis before modulation, simply omit this.
