Alternative for the IRF710 needed ?

What is happening with the Power MOS Fet IRF710 ? My supplier wants me to
use the 730 ? On the IR website I read that both are "divested" and all I see
are dual transistors in SO-8 type package. I don't want to use smd technology.

I don't want to use from an obsolete stock since I may need the transistor
for some time in the future.

What is a good alternative ?

The IRF710 has a very high turn on voltage, as well as a High RDSon (3.6 Ohms), and is only capable of 2A.

What are your requirements? Is a lower RDSon, or a lower turn on voltage acceptable?

Without knowing the end appliction voltage, drive, current, it's difficult to name one, though many would work.

ETA: IRF740 is available as a TO-220 package, higher current (10A), and much lower RDSon (0.6 ohms).

thanks for your reply.
The 710 is fine for the application, we don't need higher currents or lower
RDS on. We can use the 740 but that one is probably more expensive.
How can we select a replacement ? there are so many vendors and they
are not always showing their prices for a given quantity.
I am doing a study for a 1000 / month project.
