Welcome to the forum moonlight.
You just specified a PSU whether it be a SMPS or a transformer of 24V@10A. Input is 220V mains. :D

Well buddy! to go about helping you, You have to like provide all the information....no!
So then we can start cracking our heads.
So how about telling us what you are up to.

and he only gave me the information i gave u
and i have no idea what i'm gonna do
but i started searching and i beginning to understand
please dont laugh at me

hello moonlight,
i think nobody will help u here for your blank mind.....without having any idea.
u r telling that u r a first year student.
iam xpecting that u dont have a knowledge of a simple power supply i.e., step dwn transfrmr --- diode rectifier ---- filter capacitor ----- regulator.

without having an idea of a simple power supply, u r unfit for making an smps.

so. first learn about the basic power supply and try to build it and go for smps..... identify the difference between a basic supply and smps.

if u r familiar with the basic power supply, then observe the circuits of various dc-dc converters. there are so many....flyback....buck....boost converters etc...

if u have a proper guidance, very soon u can build an smps....

first try in google like 12v power supply....or see the datasheets of 7809, 7812 ...etc for example power supply circuits...
once u finish this, learn about smps

all the best

my mind isnt that blank i can learn and i'm determined to do it
still want help!!
thanks anway

Well, SMPS is not an easy field and takes a lot of hard work for you to make a fully functional one. First you may want to start by reading some books, eg:
Power supply cookbook by Marty Brown
Demystifying Switching power supplies by Raymond Mack
Then you can go make the SMPS. You also need to have knowledge of MOSFET/IGBT, PWM controllers, ferrite cores and how to wind them.
Then have study on the different topologies. For your requirement: 24v 10a = 240w output, half-bridge topology seems the way to go. But you could also use flyback topology using TOP-GX/TOP-HX ICs from Power Int (provided you can wind the transformers properly).
Good luck and remember that you can accomplish all this if you are determined to work hard in this field.
Cheers.
Tahmid.

Hey Tahmid. How's the weather up their.
You are from India, right. Never thought I'll meet an Indian around here.
From your post I See that you are a professional in electronics or is it electrical.
Just like to get to know the geek minds in this great place.
DId you know that I studied at NTTF Bangalore' like around 1994.

Anyways see you around

You can study the books that I mentioned. You can also get a lot of free books on the net. But before gaining enough knowledge, do not try to construct an SMPS as it can be lethal. If you make a circuit, make sure that you discharge the capacitors before you put your hand there. Through study and hard work you can attain proficiency in SMPS - I am confident. Man can do what man has done.
