Hi everybody!
I am working on an active microwave balun. This is comparable to an amplifier having a single input and a differential output.
Most puplications dealing with it use a CGF and a CSF in parallel realizing a 180° output, however they are all integrated circuits. In my project I have to build it with discrete FETs. Beeing new to this topic I have a few starting problems. Most S-parameters that I get are for common source only. And If they provide a equivalent circuit model (for ADS) the CS and CG configurations provide different gains, so that they are not applicable for a differential output.
Do I have to use completely different FETs for the CS and CG configuration? how can I get CS and CG FETs with similar gain performance?
thanks in advance
