Kindly clarify the difference between the dual axis accelerometer, single axis accelerometer and multi axis accelerometer.

Single axis: senses acceleration along one axis. Call it X.

Dual axis: senses acceleration along two axes. Call them X and Y.

Multi axis: senses acceleration in more than one direction. Might be up to three; X, Y, Z.

They sense rate of change in position. Integrated over time, the information can do a mapping function.
